Wikipedia
Wikipedia (in English: Wikipedia) is a multilingual web-based online encyclopedia with free content and open collaboration, written by volunteers and whose articles can be viewed and edited by anyone with Internet and web access. The owner of this encyclopedia is the Wikimedia Foundation and its founder Jimmy Wills. The name Wikipedia is created from the combination of the word "wiki" (meaning collaborative website) with "pedia" (derived from the suffix "encyclopedia" meaning encyclopedia). The goal of Wikipedia is to create and publish an encyclopedia with free content in all the living languages of the world. With the increasing growth of this encyclopedia, its administrators in the Wikimedia Foundation have several other similar projects such as Wikiword, Wikibook, Wikitalk, Wikinews, Wikiuniversity, Wikitravel, Wikidata and Wikigon.
created Persian Wikipedia started its activity two years after the start of the English Wikipedia project, on 28 December 2003 (December 19, 2003), and now it is in the 19th rank of Wikipedias and is considered the largest Persian encyclopedia. Farsi Wikipedia has 949,873 articles now (14 Bahman 1401).
